Help Haiti

About Us

Jonathon Rauch argues the market place of ideas is like a funnel. Millions of people float millions of hypotheses every day. Society collectively test these ideas, bats thm around or ignores them. Only a tiny few make it out the narrow end of the funnel, where they are declared useful or true. Help Haiti should be valued as a service offering.

A tiny charity in Haiti is in the process of inviting all active charities in Haiti to meet together on the internet and work together. All interested souls are invited. The estimate of active charities in Haiti is  3,000 TO 10,000. Haiti’s population is estimated to be 10.5 million. Our goal s include working together to help improve the living conditions on all of Haiti.

Help Haiti is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of the people of need in Haiti. Help Haiti's current task is to channel charitable donations into the work of Father Rick Frechette in Haiti. Fr. Rick administers several large projects in Haiti that are completely vital in the effort to improve the circumstances for Haitians. These include the Kaye Ste Helene orphanage in Kanscoff (which cares for and educates approximately 600 kids) and St Damien's hospital in Petionville (the only free pediatric hospital in Haiti, serving 1,200 inpatients and 20,000 outpatients per year).

History of Fonds des Blancs

Fonds Des Blancs is a rural area about 40 miles west of Port Au Prince Haiti. The road to get there is good until the last twenty kilometers….when it becomes rutted and narrow. It is an agricultural area and unfortunately charcoal is made by deforesting, which is cutting down trees to make the charcoal and there are many barren fields.

How You Can Help Haiti

Get Informed

The recent earthquake in Haiti devastated a country that was already in crisis. Consider the following pre-earthquake statistics: Half of the people who die each year in Haiti are kids under 5 years old. Around 80% of Haitians are unemployed, and the majority of Haitins live on less than a dollar a day. Only one out of every two people has access to clean drinking water. 6% of Haitians have HIV/AIDS, and the disease orphans thousands of children each year.

Take Action

The impoverished youth of Haiti, orphans and those with serious illnesses or trauma needing medical care, face monumental hurdles. Father Rick and his supporters make a huge positive difference in these young lives at both Kaye Ste Helene Orphanage and St. Damien’s Hospital.

Father Rick depends on your donations to keep the orphanage and hospital supplied, equipped, and open. Every penny of your donation goes directly to Father Rick to be used in his projects in Haiti. Help Haiti does not use donor money for any type of administrative expenses. Your donation is tax deductible and will have a profound effect on the lives of kids in Haiti.
